CSO Weekend: Fabulous Finale
May 2-3, 2008

Mozart's graceful Concerto No. 20, performed by the "transcendental" pianist Lars Vogt, contrasts with the vivid orchestral colors and primal rhythms of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring—music that sparked a riot at its Paris premiere nearly a century ago. The program opens with music evocative of the Great Plains, a world premiere by Cincinnati composer Robert Johnson.

Paavo Järvi, conducting
Lars Vogt, piano
